Furniture design & Collections

How is the furniture made?

Heilig Objects are made from carefully selected materials, masterfully crafted through elaborate processes, and thus taking all the time and unconditional dedication that the individual piece requires. We work with selected regional project partners and suppliers, people who identify with our design concept and our corporate values.

Where are Heilig Objects made?

Design furniture by Heilig Objects is made exclusively in Germany, in our very own workshop studio in Darmstadt. Would you like to witness our design creation process? Feel free to send us an email with the subject ‘Workshop’ and your telephone number to service@heilig-objects.com. We will call you promptly to arrange an appointment.

Why are the small series limited in number of pieces and some delivery times long?

Anyone who wants to live with a piece of furniture by Heilig Objects needs patience. Each object is an exclusively handcrafted masterpiece of luxurious workmanship, precision construction and design perfection. To realize such qualities, reminiscent of slow design, the young creative rebel experiments, researches, ventures, discards and researches again. Often it takes months before he has the ultimate design in his hands, the one that meets his exacting standards.

What does the unique collection Compagnons de Vie stand for?

The Compagnons de Vie collection is opulent purist utility art. Unique, soulful furniture with exciting stories, surprising material synergies and fascinating textures. The artistic concept is to combine the past and the almost forgotten with the rediscovered and the contemporary, to create timelessly modern divas and dandies in the room.

What does the limited furniture collection Metamorphosis stand for?

Metamorphosis embodies the finest young German furniture design. Iconic interior objects with provenance, high artistic standards and masterful, historical craftsmanship of original perfection. Inspired by Ovid’s books of metamorphoses, Metamorphosis designs bear names equal to good omens. Poet and designer are united by a high artistic standard: balancing old and new forms, and identity in an unsteady world.

About Heilig Objects

What does the young German furniture design brand Heilig Objects stand for?

Heilig Objects stands for luxurious interior design objects, created for nonconformists. Exclusive handmade and authenticity certified one-of-a-kind pieces, design collectibles and unique interior collections, as well as small series furniture editions. Designs by Heilig Objects are breathtaking rock ‘n’ roll. Elegant in time and touchingly honest. Spectacularly puristic and outrageously sensual. Self-contained and at the same time excitingly luxurious. Made in Germany, each object has an origin story all its own, a quality that’s first class and a flexibility of use that’s fascinating to behold. Some designs of Heilig Objects already bear the insignia of modern furniture classics.

What is the design philosophy of Heilig Objects?

Daniel Heilig is imbued with an insatiable longing for authenticity, identity and timeless beauty in the philosophical sense. His design oeuvre contradicts ubiquitous soulless perfection and fateful fast pace. Consequently, the young artist creates soul stirring furniture, companions for life with authentic spirit, honest materials and surprising origins. Interior design by Heilig Objects celebrates timeless elegance, master craftsmanship, constructive excellence and the highest quality materials.

Who is Daniel Heilig?

Daniel Heilig is a young German-Hungarian design autodidact, a rebellious free spirit and creative cosmopolitan. Born in Budapest, he has half of Europe in his genes. His path in life is a constant change of worlds. Iconographic characters and architectures and the infinite beauty in the moment all inspire him. His thinking, knowledge and creative urge are boundless; his music and photography, his fashion design and furniture design cross-fertilize each other. This creative plurality, coupled with a constant striving for aesthetics, excellence and precision, characterize this virtuoso’s artistic work. His interior objects, which arouse longing, are created experimentally according to feeling, in, as it were, alchemistic, surgically precise, often torturous and usually months-long developmental processes.

Is the artist available for collaboration?

Yes, Daniel Heilig makes his design objects available for selected exhibitions, film, photo and video installations or cultural events. Please send us an email with the subject ‘Collaboration’, your ideas and your contact details to: service@heilig-objects.com. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Who is the team around designer Daniel Heilig?

Our design objects, elaborately handcrafted in our studio, are the result of close collaboration between designer Daniel Heilig and international design students seeking to achieve the design excellence of Heilig Objects.

How can I become a part of Heilig Objects?

Feel free to send us an email with the subject ‘Application’ to service@heilig-objects.com. Please describe in as many words as you like, how you wish to help the Heilig Objects team and the best way to contact you. We will be in touch within a few days.

Is there a showroom where I can experience furniture of Heilig Objects?

Yes, designer Daniel Heilig is happy to welcome you to the showroom at his workshop-studio in Darmstadt, Germany. Please send us an email with the subject ‘Showroom’ and your phone number to service@heilig-objects.com. We will call you back to schedule an appointment.

What is the position of Heilig Objects on sustainability?

Furniture objects from Heilig Objects are sustainable by nature. Ecologically responsible thinking and action is a matter of course for Daniel Heilig personally and as a designer. For the sheer joy of beauty, he works with special or handpicked, regenerative, recycled, historic and eco-certified natural and manufactured materials. The timelessly elegant, less-is-more aesthetic of his living objects is the consequence of consistently reducing to the essentials: in design, use of materials and quality of workmanship. The artist uses enduring materials which promise years of enjoyment, a long life, easy care, and repair if needed.

Care instructions & Products

How can I care for my real wood table?

It is recommended to treat real wood surfaces every six months with a soft cloth and pure organic oil. For daily care, clear water and a soft, slightly damp cloth are suitable, as well as a dry cloth for rubbing. For the removal of stains, soapy water and warm water are suitable. Please avoid using chemicals and harsh cleaners.

How can I care for my concrete tabletop?

Clear water and a soft, well-wrung cloth are suitable for daily care. It is recommended to seal concrete surfaces with pure organic wax every six months. This way you will maintain good protection against penetrating liquids and dirt. Please avoid using chemicals or harsh cleaners.

My wood tabletop shows color changes and/or slight unevenness, what can I do?

New solid wood furniture naturally darkens beautifully over time. Slight changes in color and surface are characteristic of precious real wood. Like all natural materials, it will respond to specific lighting conditions, prevailing or changing temperatures, and humidity levels within its environment. We love domestic real wood for its virtuoso liveliness, its magical way of aging gracefully and becoming even more beautiful with each passing decade.

My concrete tabletop shows color changes and/or slight unevenness, what can I do?

Slight changes in color nuance and surface structure are characteristic of concrete – a natural material. We process only the finest, highly compact and durable manufactured concrete, produced according to innovative recipes in southern Germany. It is polished, ground, silicified, and wax-sealed colorless by elaborate hand processes.

Are interior objects by Heilig Objects suitable for outdoor use?

Our high quality, elaborately handcrafted designer furniture is specially made for interior use. If you would like to use your furniture outdoors we recommend protecting your object against wind, moisture and strong sunlight.

Materials

Where do the furniture materials come from?

The young furniture designer uses personally selected premium materials for his designs. For example, the precious real woods that we use in our small series come from FSC or PEFC certified, responsibly managed forests in Germany. Our highly compact, extraordinarily fine-poured concrete comes from a small innovative manufacturer in southern Germany. Our upholstery fabrics, of the most luxurious microfiber, come from a famous fabric maker in Italy. Stainless steel and cast iron are sourced from the finest regional metal workshops who we have trusted for years. The designer finds the unique or limited materials for his one-of-a-kind Compagnons de Vie collection on his travels near and far.

What are the advantages of Italian-made luxury microfiber upholstery fabric?

We cover the seat pouf NUMA with exquisite microfiber upholstery fabric from a traditional Italian manufacturer. Originally developed for top international motor sports and the highest driver demands, this noblest of microfibers also inspires us. The luxurious, durable and easy-care qualities of the fabric is worth its price; it retains its beauty, color brilliance, glove softness and fit even after much intensive use.
